Decision Making using Mimetic

Decision Making plays a very important role while building your start-up.

How to use the Mimetic theory to make better decisions.

I'd like to share in this short post what I've learned about it!

1/ What is Mimetic theory?

It's the belief that we learn what to desire by observing others.

Essentially, people copy each other.

It was popularized most recently by Peter Thiel.

2/ Benefits of Mimetic?

It's is a shortcut we use to make decisions quickly and easily.

We look to our circle of people, people that we trust, to make decisions for us.

Watch from those around you, and quickly figure out what works and what doesn't.

And reach your goals faster.

3/ Mimetic for improving our decision making skills.

For example, you start questioning your choices after hearing about your friend's success.

Or, discover a channel to reach more customers like your colleague did.

4/ Downsides of Mimetic

Could create the need for comparison and behave in a similar way.

Affecting the competition needed to improve yourself and your business.

We need to make smart decisions based on our own thoughts and intrinsic drivers.

5/ Wrap up

That's it for today, folks!
